Who Are We?
Kepala Seni is a collective effort, but it is lead by a local female musician and aspiring music journalist who just so happens to be a full-time Riot Grrrl and got recognised by Smashing Pumpkins in 2022 (no big deal).
What is this for?
We are providing a platform to navigate and broadcast the local indie music scene as well as the underground culture in our homeland, Brunei.
Our aim is to lend a helping hand, while simultaneously push the envelope, which naturally work both ways; collaborations with bands, musicians and other creatives will be a huge help for us, but good things take time!
Stay tuned.
Why?
As individuals, we have experienced the downsides of being in the underground scene trying to get our names out there. Despite the in-your-face '#supportlokal' posts, the music scene is still severely underrated and unappreciated.
Thus, the creation of Kepala Seni was extracted from our barely-there brains and this will (hopefully) be a beacon that could help the scene get out of their awkward-sadbois/girls/theys-introverted bubbles to readers who will welcome them and appreciate their music, as it should be.

Moreover, we aim to educate more on certain badass movements that revolve around music and the culture through research articles and interviews. Additionally, we want to create a safe space for women, men and non-binaries alike from alleged perpetrators/ predators especially at gigs, and the music scene as a whole.
